Καψωμενάκης Ιωάννης

Ο Ιωάννης Ν. Καψωμενάκης είναι απόφοιτος του Τμήματος Φυσικής του Εθνικού και Καποδιστριακού Πανεπιστήμιου Αθηνών (ΕΚΠΑ, 2002) με μεταπτυχιακό δίπλωμα ειδίκευσης στην Φυσική Περιβάλλοντος / Μετεωρολογία (ΕΚΠΑ 2005) και διδακτορικό στην Κλιματολογία / Κλιματική Αλλαγή (ΕΚΠΑ 2009). Από το 2020 εργάζεται ως εντεταλμένος ερευνητής στο Κέντρο Ερευνής Φυσικής της Ατμόσφαιρας και κλιματολογίας της Ακαδημίας Αθηνών με γνωστικό αντικείμενο της Κλιματικές και τις πλανητικές μεταβολές. Έχει δεκαπενταετή επιστημονική δραστηριότητα σε θέματα κλιματολογίας, κλιματικών προσομοιώσεων και ελέγχου αξιοπιστίας τους, Φυσικής και Χημείας της Ατμόσφαιρας και τηλεπισκόπησης. Είναι μέλος της συγγραφικής ομάδας της Μελέτη των Κοινωνικών, Οικονομικών και Περιβαλλοντικών Επιπτώσεων της Κλιματικής Αλλαγής της Τραπέζης της Ελλάδος (Ε.Μ.Ε.Κ.Α), η οποία έχει εισηγηθεί στο ΥΠΕΝ την Εθνική Στρατηγική για την Προσαρμογή στην Κλιματική Αλλαγή που έγινε Νόμος του κράτους (ΦΕΚ Α’ 149/09.08.2016). Συμμετείχε στην ομάδα εκπόνησης της μελέτης Περιφερειακού Σχεδίου για την Προσαρμογή στην Κλιματική Αλλαγή (ΠεΣΠΚΑ) της περιφέρειας Πελοποννήσου, της Περιφέρειας Κρήτης και της Περιφέρειας Αττικής. Έχει 36 πρωτότυπες δημοσιεύσεις σε διεθνή επιστημονικά περιοδικά και πάνω από 75 σε Πρακτικά εθνικών και διεθνών Επιστημονικών Συνεδρίων. Το έργο του έχει αναγνωρισθεί από τη διεθνή επιστημονική κοινότητα με πάνω από 1400 ετεροαναφορές και υψηλό δείκτη επιρροής (h-index=17).

Συμμετείχε σε πάνω από 20 Κοινοτικά και εθνικά ερευνητικά προγράμματα με θέματα που άπτονται της φυσικοχημείας της ατμόσφαιρας καθώς και την κλιματικής αλλαγής και των επιπτώσεις της. Ενδεικτικά αναφέρονται:

• Copernicus Atmosphere Monitoring Service CAMS2_82: Evaluation and quality control (EQA) of Global products (2022-2025) που ασχολείται με τον έλεγχο της αξιοπιστίας των προϊόντων σύστασης της ατμόσφαιρας του CAMS.
• Boosting the implementation of adaptation policy across Greece: “LIFE-IP AdaptlnGR”, το οποίο έχει ως σκοπό τη μελέτη των επιπτώσεων της κλιματικής αλλαγής στην Ελλάδα και τη χάραξη της προσαρμογής στην κλιματική αλλαγή της Ελλάδας.
